State Driven Conformity
Posted By Senator Elaine McCoy Feb 24 2012 12:01PM

Mr. Harper's "kind of nationalism requires state-driven conformity," said Lawrence Martin this morning.  Far from maintaining our freedoms and liberties, his policies are leading us in the other direction.  For "a small sampling from the march of audacities", click here.

Mr. Martin concludes that it’s "the new Canada".  Is it?  Only if Canadians do not continue to speak out in defence of our treasured traditions.

Thanks for doing this, for being a senator that takes your job seriously, who thinks for the country rather than the partisan benefits for partisan buddies. Keep it up: if you continue to fight and do everything you can do, we just might keep enough of our country to rebuild after this horrible government falls.

Justice without mercy is cruelty. I remember when this bill was first being discussed, Vic Toews infamously said "The state is not in the forgiveness business" or word to that effect. I think we should remember these horrible words when it's time to mete out con-style justice for their attempt to influence the outcome of the last election.

The Alberta Government needs to think much more deeply about the differences between the differences of energy and fuels.

On a finite planet energy generated from burning minerals dug out of the ground, will inevitably stop. There is only so much Coal, Oil, and Natural gas.

It seems to me that we are in a no win situation, if we continue along the present path.

We can continue along this path, short sighted as it appears to be, or we can change our outlook and think about our grandchildren’s grandchildren!

Listening to the Rhetoric of Hegemonic Governments, I am reminded that we are all born innocent of ideology, that notions of one system or another of government are just that different systems, and that one is not necessarily better than the other

Thank you Senator McCoy for starting this blog. It seems there is another misdeed by this government which leave us in a state of disbelief that such things can happen in our Canada.

I remember a senior bureacrat in Calgary warning me that Harper "will change the DNA of the country." Seems he is well on his way to doing so, unless we stop him. Find your voice and use it in defence of your country.

Maybe this applies to all issues right now. That is that the present government if taken as an entity, shows the symptoms of antisocial personality disorder. How so? Well psychopathic entities leave fighting and discord in their wake. Why else would issues be selected for new policy decisions that have no bearing on the reality which is the declining crime rate? Many Canadians are in an uproar about the crime bill, online spying, election "irregularities" etc. Sounds like your typical aftermath of a psychopathic outbreak.
